Adrian Smith

Adrian Smith has a background of over 30 years within the Probation Service, and as a senior manager for the past 20 years. He is experienced in working across all sectors of the criminal justice system having led multi-disciplinary teams of police, lawyers, courts staff and probation and youth justice practitioners. Adrian developed expertise in inspection, investigations and adjudications and is qualified in Executive Coaching and Mentoring, as well as mediation work (Restorative Justice Facilitator).

He is a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a fellow of the Probation Institute and is currently Director of Quintesse Limited, which is a consultancy specialising in business standards, learning and development. Adrian chairs Fitness to Practice hearings for Social Work England and for the Nursing and Midwifery Council as well as the General Dental Council. Adrian also sits as an independent member of Police Misconduct Panels, for four UK Police Services.
