Shabnum Ali
Shabnum qualified from GKT in 2007, and after spending a few years working in general practice, hospital and in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery and oral medicine; she completed her specialist training in Special Care Dentistry in 2015. She has worked both as a Consultant in an Acute secondary care service as well as as a Clinical Director in Community. Shabnum has also worked in the field of Safeguarding Adults and as Associate Caldicott Guardian of NHS England nationally. She is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at a University, is an examiner at the Royal College of Surgeons, and is on the regional Managed Clinical Network. She has served on a number of boards, and in the NHS, social enterprise and voluntary sector, where her board won the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service. She is able to navigate through complexity and make robust, compassionate and fair decisions. Shabnum's values are those of authenticity, equity and justice.
